Gems are the movable objects found in gameboard of Rainbowtail (Game).

Overview[]

Gems since the version 2.8

The gems appear in game.

Just like the match-3 puzzle games Bejeweled and Candy Crush Saga, the gems are the essential objects that can be matched in 3 or more.

Each time matching gems properly requires 1 Move and can deal 1 damage to adjacent most obstacles, Enemies or Brick Golem. Gems also can clean Dark Sludges by matching them over them.

Each cleaned gem earns 10 scores and the combo increases earning score by 100%p per combo. Gems matched in a form of normal summon will earn doubled scores, or 3 or 5 times for a form of Double Blast or Chain Blast respectively.

If matched in a special form, a Gemling will be summoned. See this page for more information.

When the player cleared a level, Gemlings will gain Gem EXP until reaching its max. level (5), the amount of EXP is based on numbers of cleaned gems in a game. For example, a Grass Gemling will gain 100 Gem EXP if a total of 50 green gems were cleaned.

  • The markings on 6 each platforms of the Team and the gems in the Randomizing/Re-shuffling art use the first gem designs in both legacy version 2.8.5 and live version, despite that their designs are no longer used in-game.
  • In legacy version, Brick Golem could get 5 damages per hit.
  • In legacy version, Gem EXPs were gained 2 times of gems cleaned.
  • In legacy version, when matching gems in a form of Double Blast, only a single gem among the matched gems could yield multiplied score.

Design History[]

  • The visual design of all the 6 gems were changed in the legacy version 2.1.
  • In the legacy version 2.8.3, the gems' designs were tweaked from the second gem designs; their hues were adjusted and gained the bold outline. Two-dimensional drop shadow under them also has been changed into three-dimensional bottom round shadow.
